| The American Quarter Horses | | | Originated in colonial America in the eaely 1600s and was used primarly for his quick accelleration and muscolar build. Its foundation bloodlines were a mix of Arab, Barb and Truk horses bred to English mares which produced a compact, heavily muscled horses that could run short distance faster than any other horses. But as the new country grew so did the American Quarter Horses, and it was adapted into more of a work horses that could be used for almost any kind of task. Today the American Quarter Horses is know as "The World's Most Versatole Horses" and its populary has grow as fast as breed which now numbers in excess of three millio AQHA registered horses worldwide. There are more tan one million American Quarter Horse owners in all 50 states and 70 countries worldwide. |
