NRHA Breeders Derby in Kreuth: Rudi Kronsteiner, Austria, leads after Open Go round [June 28, 2008 - h.9:53 AM] Rieden/Kreuth (Oberpfalz), 22.-29. Juni 2008
There will be 18 competitors in the Open Breeders Derby final. Austrian Rudi Kronsteiner was the best of the go round, scoring a 224.5 astride Spat King Delmaso. Rudi was the only one who managed to ride all three horses into the final, the other two being Chic N Roost and Whizin Quick. Oliver Stein placed second astride SES Topsail Whiz scoring a 220.

2008 NRHA Derby – First Day’s Standings [June 25, 2008 - h.1:3 AM]
Oklahoma City, OK – June 24, 2008 – The 2008 NRHA Derby in Oklahoma City, Okla. not only hosts the $30,000 added Non Pro Derby and the $80,000 added Open Derby, but also hosts many other classes for the youth and non pro reiner to the 50 and older crowd and rookie professionals.
George Lawrence and This Chicsdundreamin (Magnum Chic Dream x Hermosa Dun It) are leading the first section of the $15,000 added Intermediate Non Pro and the $7,500 added Limited Non Pro divisions. Their score of 217.5 was good enough to tie for the second highest score in the first section of the $30,000 added Non Pro Derby.

2008 NRHA DERBY STARTS WITH THE $30,000 ADDED NON PRO [June 25, 2008 - h.1:6 AM]
Oklahoma City, OK – June 24, 2008 – The nearly one-half million dollar 2008 NRHA Derby is underway at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds. Since last Friday, nearly one-thousand competitors hailing from as close as Oklahoma and as far away as Israel moved into their stalls in Oklahoma City, Okla. The show started Monday, June 23 and concludes Saturday, June 28.
The first section of the $30,000 added Non Pro Derby started off the competition Monday morning with the first 79 reiners. The remaining 79 take to the show pen Tuesday.

YOUNG ATHLETES MAKE STRIDES TO OLYMPIC COMPETITION [June 25, 2008 - h.1:12 AM]
Oklahoma City, OK – June 23, 2008 – The North American Young Riders Championship (NAYRC) is the training ground for tomorrow’s equestrian Olympic medalists. Nearly 30 Olympic medalists in equestrian sports have advanced through the ranks of the NAYRC. The 2008 NRHA Derby in Oklahoma City is host to a selection trial for the first ever reining competition to be included in NAYRC. The selection trial starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 28 at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City.

2008 NRHA DERBY - AMAZING ATHELTES & GREAT ENTERTAINMENT [June 24, 2008 - h.2:11 AM]
Oklahoma City, OK – June 19, 2008 – The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) proudly presents the 2008 NRHA Derby at Oklahoma State Fair Park June 23-28. The Derby is one of two major events presented by NRHA each year in Oklahoma City. It is the Association’s premiere event for the world’s best four, five and six year old reining horses, their exhibitors and their owners.
The 2008 NRHA Derby is a great experience for all horse lovers. The first three days of the competition are free to the public making it an excellent option for the whole family. In addition, U.S. military personnel are invited to attend any of the reining performances free of charge for the entire week. The show also offers many activities outside of the show ring such as a trade show and Rein in Cancer, a collaborative effort with the OU Cancer Center including free cancer screening certificates, free information and Friday night’s special cancer survivor recognition.

FIRST EVER FEI WORLD REINING CHAMPIONSHIP - WILL BE HELD IN MANERBIO, ITALY [February 14, 2008 - h.9:30 PM]
Once again Italy will be hosting a 'first ever' venue on the international reining scene. From September 11 through 14, the 2008 FEI World Reining Championship will be hosted in Manerbio, Italy, at the Palasturla facility. In the past, a World Reining Championship has only been offered during the FEI World Equestrian Games held every four years. Coming up this year, for the first time, teams will be competing for the prestigious World Championship medals outside the WEG.

NRHA Announces First-Ever NRHA European Futurity [April 1, 2008 - h.4:26 PM]
Oklahoma City, OK – April 1, 2008 – The international explosion in the number of National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) approved shows and members have set the stage for another historic event for the association! The NRHA Board of Directors is developing the very first NRHA European Futurity and NRHA European Derby to be held in 2009.
The NRHA European Futurity “Open to the World” will be held March 9-15, 2009, in Manerbio, Italy. The event will showcase four-year-old reining horses and riders will compete for close to half a million dollars in prize money. The event is made possible through a generous offer from NRHA Hall of Fame member, Mr. Eleuterio Arcese, of Verona, Italy. Mr. Eleuterio Arcese has promised backing for 4 years to the NRHA European Futurity and the NRHA European Derby.

NRHA Bids To Host FEI World Reining Masters in OKC for Next Two Years [February 29, 2008 - h.11:7 PM]
Oklahoma City, OK – February 29, 2008 – A major announcement from the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA). The NRHA has officially placed its bid to bring one of the most prestigious Reining competitions in the world back to Oklahoma City. The NRHA has applied to host the 2008 and 2009 FEI World Reining Masters in Oklahoma City. The two-year bid to host the World Reining Masters is highly unusual because until last year the event has alternated between the United States and Europe each year.
