 [August 26, 2006 - h.2:1 PM]
 Matt Mills - Scottsdale, Arizona

Born and raised in Long Beach, California, Matt began riding horses at an early age.  He had a very successful career as a youth rider earning multiple championships throughout California in a variety of disciplines including western pleasure, horsemanship and trail. In 1996, Matt switched his focus to Reining.  He qualified for the AQHA Youth World Championship Show in 1997, but never made it to Fort Worth, Texas.  Instead, the day after he graduated from high school, Matt headed to Scottsdale, Arizona.  He had accepted a summer internship with top reining horse trainer Dell Hendricks.  That summer internship quickly turned into a job offer and Matt spent the next five years as Dell’s assistant trainer. In early 2002, Matt established his own training operation in Arizona.  He coaches several successful Non Pro and Youth riders as well as showing futurity and derby horses.  Matt also starts several two-year-olds every year. He trains at Bobbie Cook’s Out West Stallion Station in Scottsdale, Arizona.
